About Us

Prevention through Education

Youth4Animals.org has 3 critical missions: to educate, equip and empower students to: 1. Fulfill their ADOPT, NEVER SHOP campaigns 2. Earn their community service hours 3. Promote pet adoptions On a personal note: Having adopted or rescued over 25 pets over the past 20 years we've learned that educating our youth is the key to preventing the epidemic of pet overpopulation. To provide them with the insights and academic tools to help save the lives of 5 MILLION companion animals euthanized across North America every year. To incentivize eager minds with community service hours and paid internships. A parable to illustrate our mission of prevention over cure: "You’re walking next to a river and you see a kitten floating past. You jump in and save the kitten. Then another one floats by, so you save that one, too. Then another and another and another float by, and you soon realize that you can’t save them all. So you run upstream to see who’s throwing kittens into the water—and you stop that person". Steve & Krystal Hughes
